Note about the cats in my Queen of the Jungle photos

I got a message from the excellent sculptor, Richard Kemp, of HLBS fame, informing me that my two lionesses (painted each as a panther and a leopard) in my Queen of the Jungle photos are not Ral Partha sculpts, but, in fact, old out of production HLBS sculpts! oops :)

Kemp is one of my favorite figure sculptors along with Mark Copplestone, Mike Owen, Tom Meier and the Perry Twins. So it is nice to know that my little fantasy African tribe I am working on still contains figures of a couple of those sculptors (Kemp and Copplestone.)

You can see (and purchase) Richard Kemp's fine work over at HLBS (Honourable Lead Boiler Suit) at: http://www.hlbs.co.uk/

As long as I'm discussing favorites, I'll make a mention of my favorite figure painters (along with a link to their web site if they have one). These are in no particular order:
Steve Dean http://www.steve-dean.co.uk/
Kevin Dallimore http://www.kevindallimore.co.uk/
Sascha Herm http://www.sascha-herm.com/
Tom Weiss http://www.twfigurines.de/
and Blackfly (His forum name, I don't know his real name :) http://blog.coolminiornot.com/blackfly
These aren't the best painters in the world- not saying they are bad- they are simply my favorites. They do good, clean and consistent work.
